The connection between diet Coke and depression:

In a study of over 2000 people, participants who drink diet sodas we are more likely to be depressed than the people who drink for sugar sodas. This is due to artificial sweeteners and the disruption they have on good bacteria in our God. Artificial sweeteners disrupt your gut, and therefore disrupt the chemicals in your brain. This cycle can have serious mood consequences.

If you’re looking for ways to eliminate extra sugar in your diet, try the following tips:

Eat cinnamon. Sprinkle cinnamon into your coffee rather than a packet of sugar. Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant characteristics, whereas sugar creates inflammation in the body.

Eat more raw or slightly cooked vegetables. Cooking vegetables compromises the blood sugar blocking capabilities of the fiber within the vegetables. Fiber is helpful and minimizing blood sugar spikes.

Eat vinegar. Vinegar can control blood sugar levels by preventing some of the starch in your food from turning into blood sugar. This is why people recommend vinegar and olive oil rather than store-bought salad dressings for salads.

Drink tea. Tea reduces the amount of glucose absorbed by the intestine therefore reducing blood sugar spikes.

Drink red wine. A glass of red wine with dinner can decrease blood sugar spikes by preventing intestinal glucose absorption and by reducing the livers production of glucose.
